Your SIVI messages, right first time
Strovia turns your data into valid VB-PUO messages, and incoming messages into the formats your systems use. It checks every item before anything is sent and tracks the whole message cycle, so you see what’s missing before your counterparty does.

The problem
Exchanging data between pension administrators, fiduciary managers and asset administrators should be routine. In practice:
- Knowing the standard is the hard part. Structure, code lists, versions, chunking and feedback rules take months to learn, even for experienced teams.
- In-house builds are slow and costly, even with enterprise integration tools. The tools provide an engine, but not the SIVI knowledge.
- Month-end is fragile. A missing order confirmation or a rejected message often surfaces days later, when the data is already needed.
- Auditors and boards ask for evidence. Who changed the mapping, who approved it and how it was tested.
What Strovia does
Generate. Turn a cohort-level extract (Excel, CSV or database) into valid 0001a, 0001b and 0001c messages, using ready-made templates.
Validate, strictly. Check every message against the official schema, the code lists and the validation rules, and check every item in every list. A schema-only check can miss a defect in one cohort among many; Strovia doesn’t.
Explain. Every error tells you what is wrong, where it is (down to the cohort and the row of your source file), why it matters and how to fix it.
Convert. Turn incoming SIVI messages into the XML, CSV or Excel layouts your internal systems expect, without writing code.
Chunk and reassemble. Message 3 can be 10–15 MB, sometimes over 40 MB. Strovia splits messages at the size agreed with each counterparty, reassembles incoming chunks, and delivers to your own systems in pieces they can process, even if they only accept 2 MB.
Track the cycle. See every scheme’s message sequence at a glance: which messages have arrived, which are late, which are missing and which were rejected.
Connect. Exchange messages directly with your counterparties through the official SIVI API, as your own SIVI system, and connect your own systems through downloads, the API or a small agent that only connects outwards. Built and tested against our simulated counterparty; live connections with counterparties are on our roadmap.
Prove it. Versioned mappings, independent approval, test evidence bound to each version, and a full audit trail.
Built by people who have implemented the standard
Strovia comes from hands-on work implementing VB-PUO Messages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and the Feedback Message, including training architects and developers at a global bank. That experience is built into the product as wizards, templates, field help and plain-language error messages.
Who it’s for
- Pension administrators and APFs: produce Messages 1, 2 and 3 from your own data, and track the message cycle. Read more
- Fiduciary and LDI managers: receive, validate and reassemble messages from several administrators, and load them into your systems. Read more
- Asset administrators and custodians: convert SIVI messages to and from your internal formats, alongside your existing systems. Read more
- Developers: call validation and conversion through an API. Read more
Choosing your approach
Three ways to run your monthly SIVI exchange, compared on what you need every month. A comparison of approaches, not of named products; check any option against your own requirements.
| Strovia | Build it yourself | Validation-only tool | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Messages generated from your Excel or CSV extract | Ready-made templates for Messages 1, 2 and 3; errors traced to the source cell | You build and maintain it | Usually forms or manual work |
| Incoming messages converted into your internal formats | XML, CSV or Excel layouts, configured without code | You build it | Usually not covered |
| Delivery within your systems’ size limits (for example 2 MB) | Split on business boundaries, with control totals and retries | You build it | Usually not covered |
| Strict validation of every item and code | Included; 16 test defects we can run with you | You build it and keep it current | Usually included |
| The official SIVI API with your own credentials | Your gateway: mTLS, OAuth and a registration pack per counterparty (live connections: on our roadmap) | You build and run it | Varies |
| Independent approval and two-step login | Required, built in | You build it | Varies |
| Versioned mappings and test evidence | Built in: evidence bound to each version | You build it | Varies |
| Each year’s new SIVI release | Added by Strovia; you approve any mapping change | A project every year | Usually included |
Start with a pilot
One fund, one counterparty, one full monthly cycle, starting with a free strict-validation session on one of your messages.
Discover. Choose the scheme, the messages and the counterparty, and agree the success criteria.
Configure. Load your extract, apply the templates and set up the counterparty profile.
Prove. Run a full cycle with your counterparty’s test setting: validation, chunking, feedback and cycle tracking.
Decide. Review the results, the effort and the cost, and plan production.
What you get: validated mappings, the step trail and audit evidence, an exception report, and a production plan with a quote.
See it for yourself
Validate a message, turn an Excel extract into Messages 1, 2 and 3, watch a large message split into chunks, or step through the message cycle. All six demos are online, free and without sign-up; they run on Strovia’s server and keep nothing. Or watch the video, or book a live demo.
